Introduction

Indapamide is a diuretic (a drug that increases the flow of urine hence reducing excess body water) which is usually taken through the mouth. It is different from similar drugs in that it has only one sulfonamide group in it. It is a yellowish powder which is slightly acidic and is known to dissolve in alkaline solutions. Indapamide achieves its results by controlling re-absorption of water and salt. The reduction of salt in the muscles of the capillaries, veins and arteries makes them to relax, which is a desired condition for victims of blood pressure and hypertension.

Composition

Indapamide is referred to as diuretic medicine. Its ingredients include glycol, cellulose, starch that is from corn and pregelatinezed one, talc, lactose as well as magnesium stearate. This is taken orally with strength of 2.5 mg or 1.5 mg.
