Norethindrone Acetate is a hormonal contraceptive and is used for the treatment of uterus bleeding in women. It is used in the treatment of menstrual problems or uterine problems such as abnormal bleeding from the uterus. It is highly recommended not to intake any other medicine while you are undergoing treatment with this drug, as it may be reactive and cause damage to the body.
It is used in the treatment of abnormal uterus bleeding. It is also used in women, whose menstrual cycle has stopped abnormally, or women undergoing menopause. This medicine is recommended for women who are not pregnant. It is used to treat Endometriosis, a condition in which the tissue that forms the internal lining of the uterus is found outside in the pelvic area and this causes painful menstruation or irregular periods. Norethindrone Acetate stops the growth of the tissue outside the uterus during menstrual cycle and hence helps women to have normal periods.
Dosage and administration
In case of uterine bleeding, it is recommended to take 2.5-5mg/day for 5-10 days. In case of Endometriosis, 5mg tablets are taken for 14 days. In case of severe issues, the dose may be increased to 15mg/day for about 6 months.
This medicine needs to be taken orally followed by a glass of water. It is advised by physicians to take the medicine only after food to avoid stomach problems. In case you miss a dose, do not take 2 doses at the same time. Skip the missed dose and continue the medicine as per the normal routine.
